A Strong Start: Kickoff at The Blanche

The week began with an energizing kickoff event at the historic Blanche Hotel. Community members, local leaders, and business partners came together to celebrate the power of local partnerships and set the tone for the days ahead. The atmosphere was one of excitement, unity, and forward momentum.

Tourism Takes the Spotlight

On Tuesday, we gathered at Alligator Lake for A Taste of Tourism, an event focused on the vital role our parks, trails, and natural assets play in supporting Columbia County’s economy. With refreshments courtesy of Lake City Smoothie King and insights from Visit Lake City FL and UF IFAS, the event showcased how tourism continues to shape our region’s growth and quality of life.

Fostering Collaboration in Business

Midweek, the focus turned to the strength of our local business community. At TownePlace Suites, attendees enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour and engaged in thoughtful conversations about collaboration and innovation. It was a clear reminder that partnerships between businesses and the broader community are essential to building a resilient local economy.

A Milestone in Infrastructure

One of the week’s standout moments was the ribbon cutting at the North Florida Mega Industrial Park Wastewater Treatment Plant. This event celebrated a major infrastructure milestone—one that reflects smart investment, forward-thinking leadership, and the kind of partnerships that fuel sustainable development. With support from the Lake City – Columbia County Chamber of Commerce and enthusiastic community turnout, this moment marked a significant step forward for the region.
